Glitchy

Glitchy is an automated galvanic bootloader flash glitch injection tool with a simple-to-use interface.

Galvanic Fault Injection - Glitchy uses isolated relay circuits and a target's own voltage or ground to deliver fault injections to targeted circuits.

Target Flash/MCU Protection - Glitchy's injection circuit includes a series 0-5Kohm adjustable potentiometer.

Automatic - Glitchy automatically detects fully customizable strings indicating when the target device is loading images from flash, when glitches are successful, when they failed, and can automatically assert RESET on the target to continue trying until it succeeds. Glitchy can deliver predefined payloads to the bootloader shell after successful auto-boot bypass has been detected and drop into interactive shells.

Simple and Robust - Glitchy provides full in-UI and flash-based customization of all functionality and features while also being ready to use right out of the box. Glitchy uses CDC-provided baud-rates by default while also optionally providing two different means of Target Auto-Baud Rate Detection.

A Glitchy consists primarily of:

- SAMD21 microcontroller
- USB-C Port
- MCP4017 digital pot
- Two Reed Relays
- A 2.54mm header which exposes pins for:

- Target Glitch In
- Target Glitch Out
- Target RESET In
- Target RESET Out
- Target UART RX
- Target UART TX
- Target GND
